April Gayle Parker Lewis, age 50, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on January 8, 2014.

 

April was born on June 21, 1963 in Long Bottom, Ohio to Howard and Wilma Parker. She graduated from Eastern-Meigs High School and continued her education at the Ohio State University graduating with a Bachelors and a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering. Well-regarded and respected for her work as an engineer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, she retired in 2012 after 24 years of civil service. April was married 27 years to the love of her life, Todd Lewis. Together they raised two daughters, Kacie and Sydney. As a devoted mother she constantly supported their involvement in activities, such as 4-H, the fair, and sports. With an enthusiasm for life she participated in many community service organizations and was an active member of the Enon United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Todd of Springfield, Ohio; two daughters Kacie Hirtzinger (Todd Hirtzinger) and Sydney Lewis; her mother Wilma Parker of Long Bottom, Ohio; and a brother Aaron Parker of Germantown, Ohio (Patty Parker). She is preceded in death by her father Howard E. Parker. Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 11, 2014 at the Enon United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeff Mohr officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday January 11, 2014 at Bethel Cemetery, 312 Cambria Rd. Oak Hill (top of the hill). Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Adkins Funeral Home in Enon.
